This is Erd, the King of the Nunathoemlen (new-nah-thow-em-len), and the father of Muila and Layalin and Kyla. (What? I don’t have any better pictures of Kyla than that? D8 ) He looks rather young in this picture… he’s supposed to look a bit older. But we’ll say this is early on in his kingship, back when he was an idealistic young sprout.

As you can see he is totally rocking the green; his country is steeped in green so it’s only natural. And it contrasts with his ruddy hair. Tried to be somewhat fancy with his outfit, and I think it worked, but it needs more jewels. The people of the Unicornland love jewels. They trade a lot with the Dragonland for them, or for Dragonland expertise to work in Unicornland mines to get them. But isn’t it wonderful how you can make elaborate fancy-looking patterns with a calligraphy brush just by squiggling? It’s fantastic! I’m not sure what his sash is for, though. Although I will take the time to point out that I specifically desaturated a purple to get that colour; a purple that didn’t clash with everything else (so much as the default would have). …Desaturated sounds like desanguinated. Weird.

Also I’m not sure what he’s doing with his hands. I think they came out opposite to the way I wanted them. : P

Erd’s a fairly quiet fellow; his greatest strength is in thinking and philosophy, hence his name that means Vision or Visionary, but he has a great weakness for his family. Like, greater than Flaer’s, and Flaer is a huge pushover when it comes to his family. He became king from the way he interacted with the unicorns. Nowadays he is somewhat beleaguered in an elaborate Court that is not really of his own making, and saddled with an impetuous and rather clueless wife. And then his eldest daughter runs away. I tell ya, Tseo may be an angst-bucket, and Flaer may be anxious about everything, but they’ve got nothing on this guy. Poor Erd. And I never really pay attention to him, either. : P
