Do you know what time it is? Any idea? It is freakin’ 4:00am, that’s 4 in the morning, and I am still awake because SOMEONE demanded his portrait done for the first time in almost ever. I made so many false starts I don’t know why I kept going, except that he had a very clear idea of what he wanted and he wasn’t going to stop glaring at me until I did it.

…He’s still glaring at me, but just because that’s how he always looks, more or less.

Anyway, I tried this in Corel Painter 4 (which is still borked as I can’t expand the window to fullscreen), but gave up after being reminded that all the controls are unfamiliar. I mean, I couldn’ t even flip a layer horizontally. I’m sure it’s possible, just hidden somewhere. And then I opened Photoshop again, and tried about four times to shade his face before I found a method that I liked. Do you like it? I found a fantastic brush, too, that almost approximates non-airbrushing media, and I think I over-used it. Well. I am learning. It’s nice and messy, not like my usual strangely polished stuff. I like it. I mean, could be better, sure, but I’m going to explore this for a bit.

Anyway, you get Hrulash the angst-ridden determined anime-styled hero-wannabe, defending against… something. You, probably. I should really really get back to the Rifted Riders. I might just, since Hrulash doesn’t seem inclined to leave me alone.

I had a great summer (hope you did too) and I went to EUROPE and it was AWESOME and everyone should visit Amsterdam and Purmerend and Vienna and Cologne. I know Purmerend isn’t famous but there’s a church (more than one, probably) with lots of organs there. And also there’s Oosthuizen, WHERE I PLAYED ALSO. Also you should know that Portal 2 is the Best Game Ever, and you should all play it, and then find each other and play the multiplayer, because it is amazing.

Currently I am working on my second year of Master’s of Collaborative Piano, and I am actually making progress! I still want to do too many things, but the important things are actually under control which is amazing. Also I painted my room pale yellow, and it’s so much more cheerful in here now. I could do an even better job if I didn’t feel so rushed, but hey it’s livable now. Also a cute little mouse lives in the kitchen omg. I mean, it poops everywhere, but it is adorable, so we will let it stay.

I’m not going to promise more updates or art, but……… I may just have more art to post sooner or later. : D
