Anne in colour

Doo doo de doo… swish swish… flap flap…

Ah, Anne. In colour! Original here. Ah, I did a sloppy job on the wings… but I still don’t know how to draw them. Anyway, I just tidied up a few details before posting it today, like the ear and the wing texture. As you can see I went crazy with the multiply function in Photoshop, though it is a tiny bit annoying that when you merge layers they either both become multiply or they both become normal… Didn’t really bother me here, though. And the bucket seems to have survived! Anyway, y’know, I think I actually prefer the pencil version – colour accentuates my mistakes/inaccuracies.

Marth and Sheeda II

The final sketch of yesterday’s picture. Marth’s face didn’t turn out so well as in the practice (isn’t it how that always is…) but if you want to see the little bit of it that I coloured – last month – here it is! The colours I was going to use were… Marth in his usual blue tunic, Sheeda in her usual red dress, Marth lying on a red blanket, and Sheeda lying on a wierd blue cloak thing with fluttery bits all over it. And then a green strip of grass in the middle.

Yay for blueheads?

Battlesuits colour!

The colour version of THESE GUYS!!! Anime to the max (sort of)!!! Isn’t that cool? I admit my colouring skills have developed somewhat since then. Actually, I thought it was pretty cool having the armour shadows on a different layer than the colour of the armour itself, since I could just use the dodge tool and it wouldn’t change the shadows at all! I had a little trouble with Phil’s glowing sword, though. I think Eric’s flamethrower turned out better than I could have expected.

Peggy has pearls on the collar of her armour. She’s ‘the girl’, after all. Somehow even though Eric’s main colour is green I think of him as ‘the blue guy’.

I’m not sure how they walk. Maybe they have giant jets built into those oversized boots, and they just hover wherever they need to go. >_<

I do need to find a new way to draw lines, though – the way used here is just using the ‘straight line’ tool (I only have Photoshop 5) over top of the original sketch. I didn’t know about the ‘multiply’ setting either…

I’m going for my sword… you’d better take cover… not that it will help…

This is the finished version of this sketch. It’s pretty good for my first full-sized CG, considering I didn’t know how to CG shiny eyes, or shiny hair (I only found that out a few months ago, didn’t I?) or how to use the blur tool. So, the highlights are painfully blatent, on the skin, but the hand looks rather good. The hair I did by drawing streaks on the brown and using the smudge tool to rub them in. I have Adobe 5.0, I think. Because I only knew about the smudge tool and not the blur tool, there are some white spots where it didn’t overlap properly, like on the back of the jaw. Then I don’t know how to draw ears still, and the tiny detail work on the swordhilt isn’t nearly as complicated as I’d like, and the clothing looks a little flat. But, all in all, it’s my first try, and it’s okay for that. I just want to say the shirt design has changed since then, and now the little stitchings are on the inside shirt which makes more sense to me.

Aaaaah, I should have put this up long ago. Isn’t Ceniro great? I’m awful at battle sprites, but here it looks pretty good. (The movie, however, does not). Still, he looks rather cute in the talk-sprite, even if the hair is not really professional-looking. And the little sprite all on its own is a finished image. It’s just the frames of actual fighting are not.

Can someone fix my spooky eyes? Anyone?

Can someone fix my spooky eyes? Anyone?

Ah, now this is a Photoshop picture. I didn’t know much about using Photoshop as a paint program, but I did my best. I also didn’t know much about shading anatomy. >_<7 The lips are good, if nothing else. The eyes are also just how I imagined them. I rather like the hair, which was done by drawing different coloured streaks of yellowy-brown – must be easier with a tablet – and using the smudge tool. It’s the coloured version of this picture.
