Lisztomania

Whoohoo. I'm thrilled. -_-7

Whoohoo. I’m thrilled. -_-7

I have to say… sweatdrop. Y’know, that anime convention that an embarrassed or exasperated character has a large rain-drop shape on the back/side of their head.

This picture is a long-running joke at school… One of my friends just loves the movie “Lisztomania”. Which begins straight away with something I don’t want to see. Apparently a metronome is involved, and then I stopped listening to the preview discussion. So, this friend holds a party once a year where everyone (everyone interested) all goes to watch it. lx-sama once asked if I was going, and I replied “I’d rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty screwdriver first”. That inspired him to a fit of that deep chuckling giggling that sets everyone in the area either giggling too or backing away slowly. It’s a little sinister. Very gratifying, personally. A different time, I told him I would come if my head was swathed in so much duct tape I could hear nothing and see nothing. I think. Correct me if I’m wrong, guys? Anyway, there was some talk of duct tape and eyeballs, but I don’t really remember what happened. All I really remember is this picture, in which Flairé kindly did swath my head in duct tape and let lx-sama drag me off hyperly. Hooray for excited chibis. You can see I misspelled Liszt the first time. Pickles. This picture did amuse lx-sama greatly, so that objective was accomplished.

Sort of mixed media; Flairé is in pencil because he’s the most realistic. I love Flairé. He takes such good care of me.

lx has shiny hair.

TEXT: “You mean to say that this guy, who you can’t even remember how to draw, looks like me?” “Yes. Frighteningly so. And his name’s Michael, not ‘this guy’.” “Ye’re crazy.” “You are crazy.” “(gravely) Thank you.” “Seriously, now, if you cut your hair and got amber contacts and somebody changed their height by two feet, you’d look like brothers.”

Well, then, this is an odd picture… this was before my violist friend got his hair cut, when it was still long and fluffy and pretty. For whatever reason, I thought he looked a little bit like Flairé, so I tried to draw it. I think the picture came out decently well, except MG doesn’t look like MG and I’m missing my glasses again. My self-image still doesn’t actually have glasses, if you can believe that… I’ve been wearing them since I was 13 or 14 and they still don’t register. Probably because I think I look at least a little bit nicer without them. Flairé’s arms are too short, and my head is too big. But bits of this picture don’t look too bad for an imagined scene of (mostly) real people. And I like Flairé’s hair, of course. The picture-altering program messed it up at the last minute, of course. : P

Spiderman and Flairé

*Someone* got hit with a machine gun...

*Someone* got hit with a machine gun…

Uuuuuhhhhhhhh… Not sure what to tell you about this picture. I had just watched Spiderman2, and I liked it, mostly. It had its moments. Soooo…. I think Flairé jumped in front of a machine gun or something – I don’t really remember – and while his armour protected his head and torso, his arms and legs are now useless (in the picture). And Spiderman rescued him.

I don’t know what I was thinking anymore. But it is kind of a funny picture. And Spiderman came out well, and Flairé is wearing his crazy helmet. It doesn’t look so good in this picture, though. And there’s a background.

Flairé’s collapsible helmet

And it even whitens your teeth! ...No.

And it even whitens your teeth! …No.

This is Flairé, and his usually near-invisible (when collapsed) collapsible helmet that became so popular during the second half of the war.

…I totally just made that up, but it’s canon now.

I actually like this design. I will try and keep it if I ever draw it again. And I didn’t make up the part about him wearing the helmet, because I’ve known he wears it all the time – heck, I don’t think he takes it off – but I just made up the part about it being in use during the second half of the war. I didn’t even know the war had halves.

Flairé: It didn’t. Continue reading

Flairé + Esgalwen?

Run, kids, run!

Run, kids, run!

This picture would never happen in ‘real life’. Esgalwen lived in Taur-nu-Fuin, Flairé in the Adhemlenei, in Lilemlen. So there’s no way they would be running together, either for fun or on a mission – I can’t tell. And they both seem awfully young; Flairé looks like he’s barely forty years old, Esgalwen perhaps fifteen. Anyway, they both came out decently, and it’s an interesting concept. And perhaps it does now have some sort of basis in ‘reality’, because Esgalwen is travelling under the name ‘Illinia’ in my winter D&D session, which is a kalmaeirin name. So perhaps she did meet Flairé and he gave it to her. Mithlas, on the other hand, still goes by his Sindarin name. So obviously either he didn’t meet Flairé or else Esgalwen/Illinia doesn’t know his kalmaeirin name. Whatever. (Flairé tells me he never met Mithlas, but Esgalwen/Illinia didn’t know that when she met Flairé, and Flairé didn’t know he was supposed to be looking for a Mithlas before he met Esgalwen/Illinia.)

Flairé in a wierd pose with a sword

Ooh, sexy. "... Do NOT call me that!"

Ooh, sexy. “… Do NOT call me that!”

Here be Flairé, posing with his sword prior to kicking some butt. The accompanying quote (F: Quote? from what? J: From something that will never be written.) is:
“…has the legs of a dancer and the muscles of an acrobat.”
Alex agrees that he does.
I like this picture! Despite the fact his arms and hands are too short/small.

…Elf Montage

Waaaah... too many people! Elves from all over! ...and me.

Waaaah… too many people! Elves from all over! …and me.

One… last attempt to do Esgalwen, and it failed worse than ever. Then I drew the figures on the left, inspired by the song the lady sings in the bar on Outo World in Tsubasa… I still can’t remember her name anymore. Anyway, the bit where she stops and the girls’ choir starts is the bit that inspired me to imagine Flairé swinging me around in the air. Except I forgot my glasses again and he’s about a foot too tall. Then… I think I drew the one of Flairé with a little rock whizzing past his face (thrown by me ^_^7) and his shirt says “I LIKE PICKLES”. Squee! I think I drew Link next, and then Rana, and she turned out better than he did, and then I finished off with Legolas, who didn’t turn out too well, and Zela, looking especially grumpy.

Flairé

As I am pleased to meet you.

As I am pleased to meet you.

Flairéeeee!! A full length portrait and a little one of him bowing. I don’t know if I noticed this before, but his cloak is really nice in the first one. I mean, for my skill level. He’s got his shield and quiver on his back – he’s fully outfitted, except for food… and a knife would come in handy… and stuff… Second picture has good upper body positioning but everything else is pretty sloppy. Oh well, it wasn’t meant to be as good as the first one anyway.

Yasashisani!

Chibi Flairé and Flaria! Eeee!

I originally drew Flaria’s guitar backwards.

Not terribly good even for chibis, but good heads, maybe.

They’re singing that second Kiki song from the Studio Ghibli CD. The one with the acoustic guitars. The one that doesn’t sound vaguely like the Beach Boys. I have no idea what it means, but it sounds dancible. ^_^
