Well, rocking out while painting is not recommended, but when it’s to music like this… the above picture is the result. That’s the Shadow Dragon Medley from Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and it is AMAZING. I love the battle theme music in there (EDIT: I have been informed by YouTube that the specific theme is actually used for exposition cutscenes. Whatever. It’s too awesome for that). Marth is groovy! So I painted him that way. Bwahahaha.

Just a quick sketchie. Working on something much bigger (again) in yet another different style. Night, folks!

So... many... people... I think I'm losing my mind...

So… many… people… I think I’m losing my mind…

I felt like drawing people this day (17 August), so I started with Link, on the previous page, but he turned out rather creepy so you don’t get to see him. I think I was trying to draw his eyes like I observed them in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Which are purdy purdy. Anyway, then I gave up on trying to be better and just drew same-old same-old anime style. I tried to draw Marth (top left) and failed, but then I drew him again (top right) and it turned out better. Though with a bit too much angst, I think. Then I drew Esgalwen, and she came out well, though she and Flaria are disappointingly similar. Then I drew Roy, and he’s not the greatest, but whatever. And then Sain and Salir, because I haven’t for a while! Then I finished off with good ol’ Ceniro. Not my best portrait of him either, but whatever.

I used my Darth Maul action figure for reference. The shoulders still aren’t right. But Marth is skinnier than Maul. This whole idea is my Dad’s joke. I like it.

The final sketch of yesterday’s picture. Marth’s face didn’t turn out so well as in the practice (isn’t it how that always is…) but if you want to see the little bit of it that I coloured – last month – here it is! The colours I was going to use were… Marth in his usual blue tunic, Sheeda in her usual red dress, Marth lying on a red blanket, and Sheeda lying on a wierd blue cloak thing with fluttery bits all over it. And then a green strip of grass in the middle.

This is a practice sketch of Marth and Sheeda lying on cloaks on a grassy lawn. They are not naked… I just left the clothes out of the picture. But they’re not naked.

This was going to be practice for a site redesign, but I decided not to use Marth and Sheeda mainly because they’re from Fire Emblem, which is a franchise not owned by me! So, while I was planning to do a graphic redesign for the whole site for whenever I posted the next picture (which might have been tomorrow!) I decided not to

More proof that I can occasionally draw! This is one of my brother’s favourite pictures – that I drew. It’s of the Marth Smash Trophy from Super Smash Bros. Melee. It did come out well, although the tail end of the cloak clearly has some problems with subtlety – and not just in my picture.

Prettyboy poses for the painter

This is a portrait of Marth, and I tried to shade it, but it’s not very good. And I had a terrible time scanning it. The squigglies on his collar aren’t very good. Neither is his hair.

Today, I’m not sure what I’m going to do yet after I’m finished this. I will probably try drawing my Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain book. I’ve gotten to the pure contour drawing part! My drawing of a hand looked like a hand, but my drawing of an orchid looked like a squiggle. That’s because the parts aren’t lined up and are disjointed and overlapping. I think I’m improving.

Preparation for things to come!

This is a bunch of pictures on one page; the top three are Scherene and my different styles contrasted, with me drawing Marth and Flair(é). On the back of this picture is a written description of Ceniro:

“Lyn watched Ceniro. As he attacked, he walked the same speed that he normally did, but when in (close) range of the enemy, his staff blurred through the air, stopping only when it came into contact with bandit flesh. It took only three hits – 2 to the vulnerable sides and ribs and one to the head – to knock one unconscious.”

Now, part of the rules for actually using Ceniro include the fact that his staff does not kill – when an enemy is at 1 HP, it falls unconscious exactly the same way as when affected by a sleep staff.
