Tam is such a huge weirdo. Flairé thinks it’s great. And that’s why Tam hangs out with him and they are such good friends.

Getting back into visual art after all that Dragon Age writing. This image has been in my head for at least a year, so I’m glad to get it out, and hey, despite not being in practice, they both look like themselves! Especially Tam, who in the past has been a huge pain in the butt to look consistent – and properly cool. : P
Click for insanity. Yeah, I kinda ran out of inspiration at the end… and one of the words is maybe not wholly PG, but some of them are not too bad. I like the one of Math defending me from EbilTam. Also the one where Flairé has to marry someone came out pretty much how I wanted it too, but the one of Flairé and Marteth camping I wish I’d been able to do better. Maybe I’ll just do it as a picture sometime.
So that’s what I’ve been doing instead of writing or anything useful.

Bit of clarification anyway… Layalin isn’t joking when she says she’s going to die too – kalmaeirin elves have a heart condition that means they can literally break their hearts when they lose someone particularly dear to them. Of course, it would not be the fault of a car crash. : P
Working on the hilarious 10 character meme. You can probably guess at the answers if you know it already… but they might not be what you expect! I thought some of these turned out rather well. Probably stolen from Colby, but it’s been so long I’ve forgotten. I only just got around to it. : P
Also editting Chapter 2 of the novel. Split it into two chapters, so Tam’s moment of glory is now in Chapter 3. Chapter 2 is still veeeery rough. Not happy with most of it. I may need to chop it out and rewrite it by itself a few times. Wondering how Chapter 3 will go, since I’ve never written it before. Flaer made a long internal monologue about how useless anger is… and then flips out at a dragon for being stupid. What a silly boy.
What else? Um, not much. Obsessing unhealthily over my DevArt. Added like five bazillion pictures to my favourites. Guess I should add more of my own stuff. I think I will stick to colour stuff, because the pencil stuff is not so impressive. More or less. If there’s something on Adhemlenei you think I should post on DevArt, tell me. : P
Also dug up my Tour links again in preparation for a couple weeks from now… Go Andy! And Cadel! And Ryder! Okay, I guess I can wait until it actually gets going. It’s gonna be amazing on the new TV.

I always have trouble painting Tam. He is so eclectic, hard to pin down, both in physical space and in imagery… so I got someone else to do it! And Sarah is amaaaazing. (also, fast. She did this in like three days, omg) She got every detail that I specified, and added more!! (omg sexy belt)
One problem – Tam’s a male elf, thank you very much. I see a few people are confused about this. He’s built, for an elf, that’s all. XD
EDIT: They’re still not convinced. Oh well. Can’t please everyone. But I should probably thank them because replying to them led to me joining DevArt. : P

Tam! In… the forest… hunting the Black Unicorn… which is stalking him. Yeah. Not a happy picture; the beginning of Tam’s end. But I think the details of his outfit are pretty good. …If I did this in colour it would be super dramatic. Mmmm.
I actually have a bunch of pencil drawings I could post. Maybe later this week.

Whoo! Tam, he is a crazy one. Here he is in all his blue-hair-and-purple-trenchcoat-ed glory, apparently climbing a cliff. The Cliffs of Insanity, maybe? XD
Something’s not right with his face, but you wouldn’t know because I haven’t really yet drawn him ‘correctly’. Also, that’s his knight’s seal swinging around his neck. Anyway, that Tam, he is most certainly a crazy one. In the friendliest, cuddliest, silliest, best sense possible, until the Black Unicorn gets him. But until then he’s one of my favourite characters and I should probably rewrite Book 1 during Reading Break or something. As well as baking cookies and things for my reception. Mmm.
Hey, Percy Trevellyan from the Jeremy-Brett-version of Sherlock Holmes looks AN AWFUL LOT like a friend of mine. Hmm. Hmmmmm. XD
So… tried a couple things with this. No actual repainting from the original, except for some detail in the irises that you can’t even see anyway. Just lighting and saturation. I dunno. I’m still not entirely satisfied, but it’s a little better.
Tam is a troublesome boy anyway.
