Samurai Tseo

tseohakama

As some of you may know, I recently watched exorbitant amounts of Rurouni Kenshin, and this is part of the result: Tseo in a hakama. Now I want to draw Hitomi in a really flowery kimono. (But I also have many Ceniro pictures from this year’s NaNoWriMo to draw… oh dear)
I am aware that one leg looks significantly thinner than the other; it wasn’t something I noticed until I finished. : P I’m also aware that his hands don’t look right. I gave up trying to get them right rather quickly. : P

Tseo’s Girls

tseosgirls

Tseo ad Ventum and his ladies over the years.

First was Minerva Tellius (partner: white Kekalni), his sister-in-arms in the IV/IX Dragonriders, with whom he had a daughter, Misitrel. However, she dumped him after he got them all kidnapped by a madman just for existing – though the fact that he was currently a mild chauvinist certainly aided her decision.

Next was Kalalin, Hitomi’s childhood friend, grown to become a dual katana-wielding mercenary. Sadly, while she was very fun and energetic, she was also not interested in a deep commitment to one person and cheated with a member of her mercenary troop. Before that, they had another daughter, Ammernia.

Finally was Linoa Lutien, half-sister of Xanda. By this point Tseo had most of the chauvinism beat out of him by his new Centurion, Lavinia, but Linoa had her own issues – namely, a childhood friend who betrayed her and caused her much grief and rage. At the moment, their relationship is holding steady, and Tseo holds out hope that he’s finally found The One. They have two children, twins, Nieril (girl) and Nieron (boy).

I was to say that these are the most proportionate people I’ve ever drawn, and while there are still issues, I’m really happy with that fact. I’m also kind of proud of Kalalin’s character design. And while I’m not sure what Linoa would wear usually, we’ll just say she got dressed up for this picture. :3

I should colour this, or at least grey-scale it. We’ll see what I feel like doing tomorrow.

Bring the Light

Tseo’s been invading my brain recently, which I am perfectly fine with; Hrulash has had the spotlight for many months now, and Tseo’s been languishing for character development beside his grouchier cousin.
This picture is intended as a pair for Into the Dark although I didn’t originally intend to do that. I was just going to draw a picture of Tseo on fire with green flames, a sort of “this is what happens next” to the brief animation that I did involving Tseo’s eyes over the weekend. But instead, this came out, and I’m okay with that. : ) I stole his colours from his elf counterpart, naturally, and the teal of his outfit is a very different green than his eyes, which are a light yellowish green, but he doesn’t care. : P He also wields a white/gold spear to contrast with Hrulash’s black/red spear, and that’s the bottom end, not the top end, that you see up there. I haven’t designed the top end yet. : P
My boys are pretty. XD

Streets of Regalo

…can be pretty tough when young Lord ad Ventum and young Lord Cato declare war on the other kids from the surrounding villas. Tseo’s gotten in trouble with the city guard more than once, for sure. XD But between Tseo’s command and Hrulash’s tactics, they dominate the neighbourhood in their little wargames.
They’re both wielding wooden swords, and Hrulash’s is a shortsword and Tseo’s is a broadsword. I don’t know why Tseo’s holding his like a baseball bat, though

Hrulash and Tseo

My two dragonriderboys, in their AU setting of the Rifted Riders (which in itself in its current incarnation is an AU of the original RR, which was set in a sort of bastardized FFIV Blue Planet which was partly Wayriftian and partly very much not). I’m working on a story to go with this painting. This depicts them just before they met their dragon partners, when they were two semi-irresponsible (can you imagine Hrulash being irresponsible? NO YOU CANNOT) noble brats running around a city in Quintus, getting in trouble, honing skills they never imagined they’d seriously use in real life. Continue reading

Dragon Race

Tonight’s picture is a little miniature inspired by this awesome soundtrack. Basically, Tseo just met Hoarwilk for the first time, and she’s like “come on my back and we’ll go flying together, little elf!” So he gets on, and then they see Tseo’s buddy Hrulash and his new dragon friend Garekhen, and they’re like “LET’S RACE”. So they pick the top of that big impressive mountain that’s hard to distinguish from the clouds, I just realized, and they have to go through a stormy cloud layer. Garekhen flinches in the storm, but Hoarwilk doesn’t, and everybody bursts into the sunlight over the mountain and just whoops their heads off like sports fans and it’s all very glorious and everything.

So I drew a picture of it. : D Using my new favourite ‘messy’ brush, even for the dragons and people, just at a smaller size. And yes, Hoarwilk is smaller than Garekhen. Hard to tell? Maybe.

And yeah! That’s about it! : D

Hrulash, Tseo, Tseo, and Hrulash

People who’ve been following the Rifted Riders RP on the Wayrift forums will quickly figure out what’s going on here… What is going on here is that the Baronian versions of Hrulash and Tseo (on the left) have met the Adhemlenei versions of themselves on the right, and are either chagrined, mirthful, friendly, or disdainful, as the case may be.

I thought it was a cute idea.

Oh, about the Rifted Riders? Basically, Tseo and Hrulash are young dragon-knights-in-training. Tseo’s a little ahead of Hrulash (and they have their respective partners, still, Hoarwilk and Garekhen). Hrulash is a straight-laced patronizing cranky un-self-confident kid who thinks he just got into the Dragon Knights because of Tseo and Garekhen (yeah, being friends with a dragon would help A LOT, ya think?) and as a result is desperately searching for a way to prove that he’s a good knight, not just a pencil-pusher with a dragon. He and Garry are my mains. Garry’s just a jolly ol’ dragon who wants to see his partner unbend a little. Tseo and Hoarwilk are my NPCs.

“Maybe the children of a lesser god…” painting

Oh my goodness, it’s done. First time painting a dragon, I think? Painting one in full anyway. I don’t do dragons very often. I’ll have to change that at some point… Vol. 4 of The Totally Not-Canon Adventures of Flairé is set in the Dragonland, after all! Anyway, pretty happy with this painting, but critiques are always welcome! I do know that the arms are not quite the same size, though.
